DCA Live HR Leadership Award Winner on Building a Culture Where People Thrive

Great companies don’t happen by accident – they’re built by people.

That’s why we’re proud to spotlight Olivia McKoy, Director of Human Resources, following her recognition as a 2026 DCA Live HR Leadership Award recipient. Presented annually by DCA Live, the award honors HR professionals who demonstrate excellence in people leadership, talent strategy, organizational development, and workplace culture.

For Olivia, building culture starts with living Procon’s Core Values: Act with Integrity, Commit to the Team, Embrace Excellence, and Serve Our Customers. Those principles guide how Procon hires, develops, recognizes, and supports its people every day.

We asked Olivia to share her perspective on leadership, workplace culture, and the future of HR.

Congratulations on receiving the 2026 DCA Live HR Leadership Award. What does this award mean to you?

OM: This recognition reflects the people I’ve had the privilege to work alongside. HR is about creating an environment where people feel respected, supported, and empowered to succeed. At Procon, our Core Values provide that foundation and help shape every decision we make, from recruiting and onboarding to leadership development and employee recognition.

How has your background at IT and Tech firms influenced your approach at Procon?

OM: Technology should strengthen relationships, not replace them. The right tools eliminate administrative barriers so managers can spend more time coaching, mentoring, and developing their teams. That’s where the greatest impact happens.

What workplace trend should organizations be paying attention to?

OM: AI will continue changing how work gets done, but culture will remain the differentiator. Organizations that embrace innovation while staying true to their values will be the ones that attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent.

What makes Procon a special place to build a career?

OM: People here genuinely live our Core Values. Whether it’s collaborating across teams, mentoring emerging professionals, celebrating one another’s achievements, or giving back through community service, there’s a shared commitment to doing the right thing and helping each other succeed. That creates a workplace where people want to stay and grow.

What’s your philosophy on HR leadership?

OM: Great HR starts with listening. Every employee wants to know they’re valued and have opportunities to grow. My role is to help create an environment where people can do meaningful work, leaders have the tools to support their teams, and our Core Values are reflected in everyday actions, not just words on a wall.
