Orchestrating operational transition within a newly delivered federal facility
Following construction of the 570,000-square-foot MIT Volpe Transportation Center, Procon supported the transition of personnel, assets, and critical operations from five separate facilities into a consolidated, LEED Platinum research center.
The relocation required phased sequencing to maintain mission continuity for the U.S. Department of Transportation while coordinating furniture, equipment, IT infrastructure, and stakeholder communication across multiple divisions.
Procon developed and implemented a comprehensive move management framework that included asset tracking, logistics coordination, schedule integration, invoice verification, and post-move validation. Working closely with federal stakeholders, MIT, and contractors, Procon ensured operational readiness at each phase of occupancy.
The result was a controlled, accountable transition that aligned personnel, systems, and facility infrastructure from day one.

Move Strategy & Phased Implementation
Procon developed and executed a 16-phase relocation plan to transition approximately 1,200 employees from five facilities into the new center, sequencing moves to maintain uninterrupted operations.
Asset Tracking & Logistics Coordination
Our team managed equipment inventories, coordinated furniture and IT transitions, validated invoices, and supported documentation processes to ensure accurate tracking and financial accountability throughout the move.
Operational Readiness & Stakeholder Alignment
Procon served as the central coordination point among federal leadership, facility teams, IT stakeholders, and vendors—verifying readiness, resolving issues in real time, and supporting smooth occupancy across all phases.
