Delivering cost and schedule control on a $255M institutional headquarters
The 443,453-square-foot WMATA Headquarters consists of a 10-story office tower above four levels of structured parking. Delivered as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold facility, the project required tight coordination among ownership, design teams, contractors, and utility providers within a dense urban setting.
Procon provided Design and Construction Management services, with a strong focus on cost containment, schedule protection, and quality oversight throughout construction. Acting as a steady, owner-focused presence, we supported informed decision-making and rapid resolution of emerging issues.
During construction, an undersized gas distribution design created potential schedule and cost risk. Procon coordinated directly with the gas utility, architect/engineer, and general contractor to resolve the issue without compromising delivery targets.
Through structured oversight and disciplined reporting, the project was delivered on time and $4 million under budget.
