Delivering precise facility data to support patient safety and water system reliability
The G.V. Montgomery VA Medical Center required updated, reliable documentation of its architectural spaces and potable water systems to support the VA’s Legionella prevention program. Existing drawings were outdated and inconsistent, limiting confidence in system condition and layout.
Working within a fully operational 982,000+ square-foot hospital, Procon conducted LiDAR scanning and detailed field surveys to capture accurate existing conditions. Our team developed comprehensive 3D BIM models and updated as-built drawings of architectural spaces and domestic water piping systems.
Throughout the project, Procon coordinated closely with hospital operations, adhered to strict infection control protocols, and sequenced work to avoid disruption to patient care. The result is a verified digital record that gives facility leaders clear, reliable information to assess and manage water system risk in a complex healthcare setting.
OUR ROLE
LiDAR Scanning & Existing Condition Capture
Procon deployed LiDAR scanning and hands-on field surveys across the active hospital campus to capture precise spatial and systems data while maintaining infection control and operational continuity.
BIM Modeling & As-Built Documentation
Our team developed detailed architectural and plumbing BIM models to replace outdated documentation, providing accurate 3D representations of potable water infrastructure and supporting informed decision-making.
Healthcare Coordination & Risk Awareness
Procon worked closely with hospital staff and USACE representatives to plan access, maintain safety protocols, and ensure uninterrupted operations while delivering dependable, mission-critical data.
